When the solution given by Canon Online Manual for Error 1003 did not succeed qwith multiple tries, I pulled the power cord, drained the power by holding down the on button for 15 secs. X 3 then replaced power cord and tried to print again. 3rd of these routines succeeded!

Thank you very much! Your idea worked. I've had this MG6820 for less than a year- I do print quite a bit but yikes! with a whole lot of ink bought, I was kind of freaking out that it would not work. I tried fixing the 1003, as you mentioned quite a few times to no avail but then followed your directions.

OT-----I have noticed just recently that the printer wasn't printing out the entire page from my web site-lines of type were missing. What could be happening? Any idea?

Thank you very much again.

Thank you for your advice. I did the cleaning and it did not help. However, incidentaly I pushed the paper with my finger and the printer took it and printed the page. I think the feeding mechanism is at fault. When I push the paper in I hear a clicking noise, and then printing starts; one page at the time. I do not see any obstructions, jammed papers, paper clips etc. What shall I do now?

I had this happen with a Brother printer as well, but I didn't know how to fix it. Your printer has reduced spring tension. One way is to curl the paper upwards before loading it but I think this is a better way:

Simple Fix

To resolve this issue, a straightforward solution involves enhancing the grip of the feed rollers. Here’s how to do iAdd a Piece of Sponge:

Place a small piece of sponge under the paper intake rollers. This increases the pressure on the rollers, allowing them to grip the paper more effectively.
