It is most likely set by the IJ Scan utility due to operating system driver limitations. My Canon all in one scanner is limited to 1200dpi regardless if set to document or photo mode. My Epson V600 photo scanner will scan at 12800 dpi in photo mode. My operating system is Windows 11 pro. I suspect a third party program such as VueScan which works with Tahoe will up the resolution for a Canon Scanner.

The TS9120 spec sheet confirms an optical scanning resolution of 2400 x 4800 DPI, however I cannot access anything above 1200 DPI on macOS Tahoe. I have exhausted every available software option and am posting here hoping Canon can provide a solution.

I tried downloading Canon IJ Scan Utility2 instead of Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite, and downloaded ICA driver but it seems like it is incompatible with Tahoe

Thanks Derrick, I’ve read your other posts to try to solve this problem. Since the printer is discontinued, is there no support for it anymore?

Canon still has a full support page with drivers and software programs, including the Scan utility. I don't know if they are newer than yours. The IJ Scan utility is dated this year so it may be newer and possibly has a higher scan res.

FYI Windows scan, my MG3620 scans no higher than 600dpi, the Epson 1200dpi. I don't use Native Windows Scan program at all.
