I bought this printer in February and it has been printing just fine but now it doesn't pull the paper through and just goes to e3 flashing, the message on my screen says there is a paper jam, there is absolutely no paper in the machine, how can I fix this?

The EO3 error indicates a paper jam but also indicates the front cover may not be closed all the way. Did you have a jam and removed the paper? Could there be a small part of it in the rollers? You open the front cover to the carriage to look at the paper path, and if it is clear firmly close the cover.

It did not have an initial paper jam, it ran out of paper while printing and once I added more paper its been acting like this ever since

There's nothing in the carriage area, I've opened the ink area theres nothing, I've sprayed the area with air that you can buy. the ink door is securely closed

Have you tried a reset? Power it off. Unplug it from the wall, wait five minutes and plug it back in and power it up? It sounds simple but a hard reboot does the trick sometimes. Before you do that close the paper feed tray and reopen it. I had a printer like yours and I seem to remember it acted up and manipulating the tray took care of that. And does it open in the back as well?

Yea that didn't work. I'm starting to think I wasted my money on buying this printer. I can't get it to work. All it does it act like its pulling the paper through and it's printing the document but it goes into the e3 flashing. IDK what else to do.

Does "0" appear in the upper right corner of your printer's display? If so, please continue.

Repeatedly press the wrench and screwdriver button until 7 appears on your printer's display.

Press the Color Start button 1 time. Your printer will start making noise.

When the noises stop, insert 1 sheet of paper into your printer.

Press the Color Start button 1 time.

Did the paper feed through your printer? If not some object is stuck in the printer, a paper clip, or small piece of paper or in one case a ball point pen. You should examine all openings with a flash light.
