Included ink runs out after 5 color photos, colored lines on photo prints

Is it normal for the ink cartridges that come with the printer to run out after printing about 5 full color photos, also is it normal for there to be colored lines on the sides of the photo print?

No, it is not. If they are third party, not Canon cartridges they could be defective, leaking ink.
