PIXMA TR8620 How to print without opening the panel

My TR8620 printer won't print unless the panel is open. How do I change that so it prints when panel is closed?

All the info I find about this says the same:

The Canon TR8620 is designed to require the operation panel to be open for printing. Unfortunately, there is no setting to change this behavior, as it is a built-in safety feature of the printer.

Hello!

On the Canon PIXMA TR8620, the behavior you’re seeing is by design. The printer requires the operation panel to be open before it will start printing, because the paper output tray and support are integrated with that panel. If the panel is closed, the printer won’t feed paper or begin a job. Unfortunately, there isn’t a setting to override this—Canon’s manual explicitly notes that the panel must be open for printing to work .
So the fix isn’t a configuration change, but simply keeping the panel open whenever you print. If space or dust protection is the concern, you might consider positioning the printer so the panel can stay open without being in the way, or using a cover when idle.

Thanks for the info. It just seemed awkward leaving the panel open at 90 degrees. Ill try 45 and see if it works
