This is what I found:

Adjusting Position and Size in Photoshop

Setting Image Position

To adjust the position of an image in Photoshop, follow these steps:

Select the Move Tool: Click on the Move Tool in the toolbar.

Select the Layer: Click on the layer of the image you want to move in the Layers panel.

Move the Image: Click and drag the image to the desired position. Hold the Shift key while dragging to constrain the movement vertically or horizontally.

Resizing Images

To change the size of an image or frame:

Select the Frame: Click on the frame thumbnail in the Layers panel.

Transform the Image: Press
CTRL + T
(or
CMD + T
on Mac) to activate the Free Transform tool.

Resize: Drag the corners of the bounding box to resize the image. Hold the Shift key to maintain the aspect ratio.

Confirm Changes: Press Enter (or Return) to apply the transformation.

Adjusting Canvas Size

To change the canvas size:

Go to Image Menu: Click on
Image
in the top menu.

Select Canvas Size: Choose
Canvas Size
from the dropdown.

Set New Dimensions: Enter the new width and height, then click OK.

I sell items on etsy I send via USPS with a pre-printed label.

The label format is 4X6 and I do not want to print it on a thermal printer and stick it on.

I use the back feed ramp to feed in envelopes.

I got a new laptop and do not have access to the old presets.

The envelope is about 5 3/4 x 4/12. With the Canon, I feed in the envelope on the side using the back ramp.

But if I use shrink to fit, it centers it and lowers it down.

I basically want to make a default sizing/print setting in the Canon options so it prints using as much of the envelope as possible while not being far down.

Often times when I print, it is sideways, or moved too far down/left and not large enough. I have played with the settins a lot, but I do not know how to fully compensate for this. I also see there is a weird shaped border the printer cannot use. I do not know how to consider this when sizing for printing. I can't make it print as fast as it used to either. If I change the document type, it doesn't allow me to use the back ramp.

Also, I cannot figure out what dimensions it should be and if it need to be portrait or landscape.

What do I do? I am wasting dozens of envelopes trying to fix this.

Greetings,

The envelope should be loaded front side up, flap on the bottom. The orientation will depend on the application you are printing from Pitney Bowes?

Once the envelope is loaded, open the printer driver and select envelope. Since you are not using a standard envelope size, you'll need to select custom and manually input the measurements in inches or millimeters. You can use a ruler or tape measure you be exact. The application you are printing from may allow you to specify margins for centering within the printable area. The same applies to orientation. The application should allow you to set which side the flap goes in left/right.

Can I make a suggestion? You may find it easier to use a word processing program as opposed to Photoshop to print an envelope.

You need the correct app to set up your envelope, one that will allow you to customize it. I use Libre Office, a free drawing program where I can set the EXACT size of anything I want to print and adjust the margins if I want them. You create text blocks and move them to anywhere on the page si you can set the to and return text right where you want it. You should not have to worry about the printer settings because Libre Office gives you total control of the paper. You install the program choose New under file then select drawing and page properties, set the size, orientation, margins and hit okay. At that point you would choose insert from the nav bar, create a text box as the return address, type it in, then create the to: box add an address and save again. Go to file and print set the page size to 4x6 (you can choose printer properties and set it to 4x6 also) then print.

https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/

I understand then my instructions are all the same except you would insert an image instead of a text block and you can adjust the image size by dragging the corners and move it around to fit the envelope.

Yes, I'm well aware of how to adjust an image in photoshop manually.

I just needed to figure out how to be able to set my printer the right way so it will have seamless printing and maximise the space.
