Thank you for participating in the forum. Many kudos and thanks for providing the prints. It seems you have already diagnosed the issue as the new ink cartridge. I would suggest you coordinate a replacement with the provider - hopefully that was Canon. If so I'm sure they would be happy to support you by calling Canon USA support, Phone number: 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

If it is not a Canon cartridge, you can certainly try to get support from your cartridge provider, but since they sent you a cartridge that fouled your printer I suspect you could get less than a fully satisfactory result going down that path. I suggest that you get a Canon cartridge and contact Canon directly for assistance in cleaning up the mess. It looks to me like you may need to physically clean the print head and run a number of nozzle cleanings to get the mess cleaned up.

I run Windows 11 Pro on a Dell Inspiron laptop. I recently got a PIXMA TR4720 printer/scanner/copier. The printer worked fine until I replaced the black ink cartridge; then things went bad. I'm enclosing links to the Alignment Sheet, the Nozzle Clean report, and a test sheet I printed showing the problem:

Alignment Scan: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/61eae735sj1hhivmjlbrk/Alignment-Scan.pdf?rlkey=01fpqnezojksye0wzlfl67boe&st=ijqa50x1&dl=0

Nozzle Clean: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/j9b8w0yoomc96teln8fef/Nozzle-Clean.pdf?rlkey=bxp8k95unkcdeg1o8a04u14yh&st=oxwd9bev&dl=0

Printed Document: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3wm89iuoq9mh74zp7dpjt/Peinted-Document.pdf?rlkey=7gtwpmbw5r5tdi3dfxsap33rg&st=4mposhp8&dl=0

How do I fix this?

(Written with a VERY red face!) It turns out the problem was operator error--I'd forgotten to remove the tape from the print head of the cartridge; I removed it, and all is well.

Sorry for the hassle.

Yikes!!! I should have thought to ask that. Many years ago when I was working more in IT we always asked "is the computer plugged in?" It was surprising how often the answer was "Uh-oh". I even did it myself one time. So, thanks for passing the info along and don't beat yourself up too much! Life happens.
