To install the Canon G3270 on macOS Tahoe 26.2, download the appropriate drivers from the Canon website, then connect the printer via USB and follow the setup instructions to add the printer in your Mac's "Printers & Scanners" settings. Make sure to restart both the printer and your Mac if you encounter any issues during the installation.

Step 1: Prepare Your Printer

Ensure the Canon G3270 is powered on and connected to your Mac via USB.

Check that the printer is not connected to any other devices.

Step 2: Download Drivers

Visit the Canon support website.

Locate the drivers for the Canon G3270 compatible with macOS Tahoe 26.2.

Download the following:

Printer Driver

Scanner Driver

Fax Driver (if applicable)

Step 3: Install Drivers

Follow the on-screen instructions to install each driver.

Restart your Mac after installation.

Step 4: Add Printer

Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Click on Add Printer or Scanner.

Select the Canon G3270 from the list.

If prompted, choose the correct driver (UFR II is typically recommended).

Step 5: Test Printing

Open a document and try printing to ensure the setup is successful.

If you encounter issues, check the connection and ensure the drivers are correctly installed.

Troubleshooting Tips

If the printer does not appear, restart both the printer and your Mac.

Ensure that the printer is set as the default printer in the Printers & Scanners settings.

If problems persist, consider reinstalling the drivers or checking for updates on the Canon website.

Greetings,

For our benefit, does this mean you had installed the IJ Scanner lite utility v4.2.0 also?

Sometimes when you re-install drivers over a failed printer instance things can go wrong, do not get fixed or resolved.

How is the printer connected and to what? Wi-Fi, USB, etc?

We'll await your reply.

If the IJScanner lite is finding an old printer/scanner then it is obviously not uninstalled. If you follow the steps below you will need to reinstall the software for your G3270, however you should have better results this time.

Uninstalling a Printer/Scanner from macOS Tahoe 26.2

To completely uninstall a printer or scanner from your Mac running macOS Tahoe 26.2, follow these steps:

Step 1: Access Printers & Scanners Settings

Open the Apple menu.

Select System Settings.

Click on Printers & Scanners in the sidebar.

Step 2: Remove the Printer/Scanner

In the list of printers on the right, control-click (or right-click) the printer or scanner you want to remove.

Choose Remove Printer from the context menu.

Confirm the removal by clicking Remove Printer again.

Step 3: Reset the Printing System (Optional)

If you want to remove all printers and reset the printing system:

In the Printers & Scanners settings, control-click anywhere in the printer list.

Select Reset Printing System.

Enter your administrator password when prompted and confirm the reset.

Step 4: Delete Printer Drivers (If Necessary)

To ensure all associated files are removed:

Open Finder.

Go to Go > Go to Folder.

Type
/Library/Printers
and press Enter.

Locate and delete any folders related to the printer or scanner you uninstalled.

Step 5: Restart Your Mac

After completing these steps, restart your Mac to ensure all changes take effect.

Following these steps will help you completely uninstall a printer or scanner from your Mac.
