    <description>&lt;P&gt;After all the help I recieved here earlier regarding driver issues, I'm a little reluctant about returning but I have another issue.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I reinstalled the driver for Windows 10 for the Pixma TR4720 I tested the printer and it printed out the text Windows Printer Test page.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I opened a document in Word. Went to print. I eve slected print text in black. Print.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I could hear the ink cartridge carrier moving, but no ink came out. IT is a thrid party ink cartridg as Walmart, who carries Cannon printers, does not carry Cannon ink, sad to say.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Im wondering if the cartridges are garbage or something is wrong in the settings. as printer test page did work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would say it is a setting issue possibly in Word itself.&amp;nbsp; If the cartridge were the source of the problem it would not print a test page either. A test print ignores the page settings.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;When printing the Windows test page successfully you established that the computer is communicating successfully with the printer.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; I assume you're running Windows 10 22H2, which was the last update in Oct 2025 when Windows 10 support ended.&amp;nbsp; I would recommend, first, that you upgrade to Windows 11 and get back on a supported operating system.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I suggest that you try printing something from, say, Notebook or Paint to see if that works first.&amp;nbsp; If not, you have a wider MS software issue than just Word.&amp;nbsp; If they print ok, then you can limit the issue to Word.&amp;nbsp; You'll need to share the version of Word you're using, and ensure you've downloaded the most recent Word updates available.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;LOL. If I update to windows 11, I have a brick as my computer won't run windows 11. I can't update word as it is self hosted on my computer. Never mind.Maybe the inks defective. I will look elswhere as this answer is as bad as HP&amp;nbsp; killing my last printer and blaming the cable company for changing the signal suddenly.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Well you can certainly try printing from wordpad (if in your version of 10) or notepad which will&amp;nbsp; narrow down the issue. I still have one Windows 10 device myself so I sympathize with you. As a note, Word drove me nuts with all its printing bugs so I installed Libre Office, it has all the functions of Microsoft Office and it is free. I have been using if for over ten years, very good program and it works with my Canon printer. Libre office when creating a document or viewing one in Writer has a&amp;nbsp; drop down menu with the the choice for print and printer settings, a panel comes up with a dropdown to choose the printer if more than one, and properties with all settings for the printer, including page size and media type.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am very sorry to offend you!&amp;nbsp; Hopefully you'll find DerrickL's advice more useful, and since DerrickL and I agree on trying printing from another application perhaps you can save yourself spending time and money on new ink since the test page prints properly.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Also, if you find the suggestions not useful, please do not blame Canon.&amp;nbsp; I do not work for nor represent Canon.&amp;nbsp; Just a regular person here trying to help other folks out.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
