How to cancel monthly ink subscription

Why do I need this subscription? I am paying almost $8.00 a month. I was sent new ink a few months ago, and it is still in the packaging, as I am still using the previous set of cartridges. I am spending more money on a monthly subscription than I am on ink. When I first got the printer, I printed less than 100 pages, but the cartridges that were provided with the purchase ran out quickly, and I had to order more on Amazon. While using those, Canon sent me replacement cartridges, which are still in their packages because I am still using the cartridges I ordered in June 2025. Since that time, I have been charged inconsistently. 9/22/25 $4.86, 10/20/25 $10.27, 11/20/25, 12/22/25, & 1/19/26 $7.57. I am trying to figure out how to cancel my subscription since, as stated above, I am still using the ink I purchased in June. Is there any other reason I should be spending this kind of money on a subscription plan if I am NOT printing as much as I am?

it's important that you subscribe to the correct plan based on your usage.

Issues like yours are often caused by the following. (May or may not apply in your situation). Your printer should be left turned on and be able to communicate with the Canon Print subscription servers in order to accurately gauge usage and correct replenishment intervals.

When using the subscription service, you should not buy your own cartridges as this can interfere with correct polling.

I would suggest you contact the Canon sales team to discuss your concerns and to make sure your account and device are set up correctly.

Thank you for your response. Do I NEED a plan? We do not even make 100 copies a month, and the least expensive plan is 20cents per page. That's $20/100 copies. Seems odd to me that we are charged to print on a printer that we purchased.

You mentioned leaving my printer on. It automatically shuts off after some time (I haven't timed it to find out how long it takes to shut off)

I purchased cartridges from Amazon after making less than 100 copies when I first purchased the printer, and the cartridges provided ran out quickly. I needed the copies right away for work, so I was unable to wait.

I was just wondering if there was a way to cancel, as I had difficulty finding that information on the website.

If you log into your MyCanon account, you'll see Subscriptions in the navigation pane. You can manage your print plan subscription there.
