Hi KCTX! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your paper is being sliced when it feeds through your PIXMA TS3522. I apologize for the trouble you've experience and can understand the frustration.

If you are printing on anything besides regular copy paper (20 lbs. thick), I recommend that you check the paper thickness. We do not recommend printing on paper that is heavier (thicker) than 70 lbs. (265 g/m2) or 10.6 mil (0.27 mm). The paper weight information should be on the box or package that the paper comes in.

You should also make sure that the paper is being loaded properly. The guides in the paper tray should be adjusted to match the paper’s width. You can find instructions for loading the paper in the following section of the manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS3500%20series/EN/UG/ug-107.html

Although there is a maintenance option (Roller Cleaning) that will help fix issues with paper jams, it does not have something that will help with the paper slicing. When the paper is cut, bent, or torn, it is normally because either the paper is too thick or there is a mechanical problem inside the printer.

Sorry. We do not have instructions that will help you disassemble the printer to look for potential problems. If the printer is still covered by its original 1-year manufacturer’s warranty, or if you purchased a warranty extension (CarePAK) and that extension is still active, we can set up a warranty exchange for the broken one. If the warranty has expired, we can offer a discount towards the purchase of a new printer through our Canon Upgrade Program. That offer does come with free shipping.

To contact us regarding the warranty exchange, please call toll-free 1-800-652-2666.You will need to create a Canon account and register the printer before you call that number. If you have not created a Canon Account and registered your printer, you can visit the following website to do so:
https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin

If you are interested in the discount through our Canon Upgrade Program, please call (866) 443-8002 from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday to speak with one of our sales agents. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing Canon.

Just started doing this very clean slice in paper each time I print. Print quality is very good, no error codes, paper is not jamming or stopping. I have looked into printer with flashlight from every angle and don't see anything that might be causing this. Slice is exactly same size and place on paper each time. I have check the paper supply also ! Needless to say it is driving me crazy 😞

This is the only thing I can find that may have a cause for this:

Check if the paper guides are correctly aligned with the paper and ensure you are using appropriate paper. If the guides are too loose or too tight, it can cause issues like cutting the paper during printing.

I think you need to make sure a guide roller or some other part does not look the same on both sides of the paper path.

Thank you Derrick,

Through visual inspection I've pretty much exhausted the list of what is not causing the paper cuts. If I can figure out how to dismantle this printer without damaging it and get a real visual of the insides, I might be able to fix it 🙂

Respectfully,

Kevin
