Could be, did you clear a paper jam before the error, or did it show up on its own?

No previous paper jam. Haven't used the printer for a few months. I had to install a new driver first but got this error when I turned it on. I'm running a fairly old imac using Mac OS High Sierra.

This is best info I could find to reset the code when there is no obvious paper or pieces of jammed in the printer:

Understanding Error Code 1300 on Pixma iP2700

Error code 1300 on the Canon Pixma iP2700 typically indicates a paper-related issue, even if there is no visible paper jam. Here are some common causes and solutions.

Possible Causes

Paper Misalignment: The paper may not be loaded correctly in the tray.

Incorrect Paper Size: The paper size set in the printer settings may not match the actual paper loaded.

Sensor Issues: The paper sensor might be dirty or malfunctioning.

Paper Type: Using the wrong type of paper can trigger this error.

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Paper Loading:

Ensure the paper is loaded properly in the tray.

Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the paper.

Verify Paper Size:

Confirm that the paper size in the printer settings matches the paper loaded.

Inspect for Obstructions:

Look for any small pieces of paper or debris inside the printer that could affect the sensors.

Clean the Sensors:

Gently clean the paper sensors with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or residue.

Reset the Printer:

Turn off the printer, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

If the error persists after these steps, consider consulting the printer's manual or contacting Canon support for further assistan
