True. Most of my photos are viewed online, I print 5x7 images on photo notecard paper for sale in retail establishments in the town I live in, this printer can handle that little job okay. I can see the day coming when a true photo printer, not an all in one that can print images, will be sitting next to my pc.

I am running a Dell Computer with Windows 10. I have tried printing a picture on 8.5 in by 11 inch glossy paper. I keep getting the same error message for the error code 4103. Which prompts me to stop the printing queue, change the printer settings and then start over. I have done this numerous times and yet I still get the same message with error code.

I have figured out how to access the paper settings by unselecting "Borderless Printing", which apparently kept me from accessing the option of using 8.5 glossy paper in the first place. I tried the portrait option and the landscape option, but get the same error code message. Can someone please help me with this? I am getting frustrated and may have to dump this printer if it can't do the job i bought it for.

It can't do the job you bought it for. This is a real cheap printer that cannot print 8.5x11 photos. Can only print 4x6 borderless.

Look at the specs:https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/pixma-ts3722-wireless-home-all-in-one-printer

So i should go out and buy a better or at least much more expensive printer that I know can do the job?

That's not for me to decide. If you want to print 8.5x11 photos, the answer is YES.

It is true that you can not print with those dimensions on Canon printers, the one I bought is the pixma ts3722 thinking about being able to print my photos with the dimensions described above and like everyone else, I couldn't, but searching for many solutions to that problem, I found one and I'm going to leave it here in case you need it. You only need a format converter, so you can convert photos in jpg format to pdf, once converted, only the printing settings remain. When you upload the photo to the application, upload it as a pdf document and it will give you the option to print as a letter, then use the photo paper you want, just in the settings put plain paper, then just print and that's it.

Just set the paper to plain, if you notice there is no choice for plain photo paper, only glossy. Plain will print on glossy and do 8x10 with a small border, typical for most printers that are not specifically designed to be "photo" printers. I was a bit disappointed with my TS3722 at first, but once I figured I could print good looking 8x10 glossys with the plain setting from any photo viewer or application all is fine. I don't have to fight with a paper tray so photos don't get curled backwards, and that is a good thing.

The reason for type-of-paper settings on a printer is to vary the amount of ink and other print properties to give the "best" color rendition. If you compared photo prints with different settings you could see the difference.

If printing with one paper-type setting on a different paper gives satisfactory results, great. It only matters how you like the output. It's only doing side-by-side comparison that you know what settings were used.
