Two questions....it came with a strange looking white plastic "thing"...we cannot tell where it goes.

Also where is the "copy" and "scan" buttons?

Hello Barb4803.

Please try to describe the plastic part that you are referring to. Also, tell us where this part was located.

The printer has Color and Black start buttons. These have the green (color) and black square symbols and are used for black or color copying.

The unit does not have a scan button on the printer itself. Scans would have to be started from your computer using our IJ Scan Utility program.
