topic PIXMA TS9520 - Loose Part in Desktop Inkjet Printers

I just received a "new" Canon Prixma TS9020. I have an issue in setting it up. When I opened the lid to look around, I found a spring loose on the black foam under the cartridge tray. Looking for suggestions where it came from. All ideas are accepted. I'll try and post a photo to help.

Thanks

Greetings ,

This is one of those instances where you have to make a judgment call.

If you can't readily identify where that goes and it's not easily accessible, I'd pack that printer back up and exchange it. It's kind of like buying a new car and finding out that one lug nut is missing. You can drive it, but it would bug me knowing it was not right.

I'm not big on keeping things that come with loose parts right out of the box If I had to guess it's probably something for the feeding mechanism? That's just a guess.

If you purchased from Canon, they'll probably offer to ship you a replacement which will likely be refurb. That's not a bad thing but you purchased it brand new.

If you purchased somewhere else, I'm not sure what they're going to offer beyond exchange.

Canon will take care of you 100% from a warranty standpoint. If you want a replacement, you'll have to go through the seller This is why I say it's a judgment call.

Thanks for the quick reply. That is my best option, but I was hoping for a quick at home fix. May be wishful thinking.
