topic Faded Colors with Pixma G650, sometimes! in Desktop Inkjet Printers

Hello everybody,

I'm quite frustrated and stuck. Today I ran lots of tests without any lessons obtained, unfortunately. I have a Pixma G650, using Kodak smooth paper (matte). My PC runs on Windows 11. Ink levels more than enough, maintenance cartridge at 75% capacity.

Out of probably 10 pictures I printed today, all 4x6, 8 were faded and 2 were perfect. I'm printing with the drivers installed, using standard windows interface.

The picture at the bottom has the problem, colors are dull, white tiny speckles appear when up close. The others are bright, full of color. Definitely with more ink.

My settings are set, according to paper type and to high quality print. Also, I ran both maintenance programs, to clean the print heads. I'm still getting uneven results.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance...

Greetings ,

I don't believe the G650 is intended for sale in the United States?

It appears to be a product intended for sale in Europe and Ireland.

https://www.canon-europe.com/printers/pixma-g650/specifications/

If you are using Canon branded inks, I would perform a nozzle check pattern and a cleaning.

Support is available for your device in the region. It was intended for sale.

Hello, and thank you for your answer.

You're right, I'll post in the european community website.

Nozzle check pattern, yes, that could give a clue. But I'm not too optimistic about it. I have performed the cleaning already. I feel like it's working on "draft mode" somehow...
