Thank you, but as I already mentioned, I cannot get to the setup menu. I cannot get past the error message display, so that solution will not work.

I have an Pixma MX870 that now displays the ink absorber full error. Fine. I am not trying to fix it or anything like that. I am getting rid of the printer. However, I would like to erase the wifi password that I used for the network. I see no way of doing this. When powered up, I get the 5B00 error. But the screen is locked on that error message. Pressing the Setup button does nothing. I can't get to the setup settings. Is there anyway of deleting the wifi information on the printer before getting rid of the printer?

Thanks
