Thanks for your advice. I changed those settings and then immediately tried to print a 2-page PDF double-sided. My Mac connected to the printer, took a very long time to start printing, and then printed only part of the second page.

Most of my printing is done from my browser (Chrome), primarily Google Drive files and Gmail. I've also has issues printing double-sided from MacOS apps like Adobe or Pages.

My PIXMA G5020 will no longer print double-sided. After sending a print job, the printer wakes up but then my Mac immediately displays a "printer is offline" message. I had double-sided set as a default and was experiencing this problem even with one-page jobs. Single-sided printing works consistently so I've changed my default setting, but would still like to be able to print longer documents double-sided.

This problem began in July-August 2024 after updating to firmware version 1.040; another firmware update was installed on 12/4/2024. My Mac OS is Sequoia 15.1.1.

I realized I hadn't rebooted the printer after changing the settings as you suggested. I powered off/on and successfully printed a 5-page Google Doc double-sided. So we'll see how it goes. Thank you for your help.
