I did register my PIXMA MG7120 and the only number it gave me was an 863 number and they wanted $19.99 per session. From another article that I have read about a similar issue, the advice concluded that they get a new printer. Mine is an older printer and maybe that is what I need to do, but I hate to because it was working perfectly well. I guess it is not an issue that I can repair myself. It is very hard to get any information about this issue.

The message on the printer said, " Dry Ink Collector may be full."

Still frustrated!

Hi marti39,

The 5B00 error involves the waste ink absorber inside of your PIXMA MG7120.

The waste ink absorber is a part inside of your printer that absorbs excess ink used in the cleaning and printing operations. When this is over-saturated, the 5B00 error occurs and your PIXMA MG7120 would require service.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
