Mg3222 scanner not working

hello. i recently purchased a canon mg3222 wireless printer/scanner. i can print with no problems but am not able to scan.. when i load a page into the scanning tray and hit the scan button, the LED read out repeatedly flashes 'E" then "2" then "1".

Any ideas on how to get the scanner to work?

Have you tried scanning from the PC using IJ Scan Utility? If it's installed, it's under Start > All Programs > Canon Utilities.

i tried and got error message "printer is in use or error has occurred. code:2, 140,21

Any idea what that means?

Usually refers to the printer performing some action or in an error state. Try turning printer off then on again and try again
