PIXMA TS6420 - will the Pictbridge feature work over USB or only WIFI?

I bought this printer for work for a device that uses Pictbridge out of a mini-USB jack.I have the device connected to the printer with mini-USB-->USB-B cable. The TS6420 has the Pictbridge settings in the menu enabled but the upstream device can't find it. I notice that the 6420 manual repeatedly mentions 'wifi Pictbridge" but suspiciously avoids mentioning Pictbridge over USB.

Has Canon changed the rules and disabled Pictbridge over USB? The Pictbridge format has been around since 2003. Why would Canon release a printer that doesn't adhere to the 2 decade standard?

Hi Superblue,

The PIXMA TS6420 only supports PictBridge via a wireless connection.

PictBridge via USB is not supported with this printer. A printer that would support this type of connection is the SELPHY CP1500.
