Hi All,

Replaced the black ink cartridge on my MX490 with a 445XL and it then asked for a print head realignment, first time it's ever asked for this, performed the auto alignment as per the steps requested and I have colour that's clear and crisp but black that's blurry and almost double stacked letters and numbers.

Any ideas?

Hi GarthB,

Blurry printing can be caused when the encoder/timing strip inside your PIXMA MX490 is smudged.

Cleaning this will resolve the issue.
