    <description>&lt;P&gt;No, it is not. In order to scan transparent things, like negatives and slides, the scanner lid has to have a a light source to shine THROUGH the film. The moving scanner head moves but lamp is not used.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You need either a flatbed scanner that does film too, a film scanner, or a device that attaches to the front of a camera lens and illuminates from&amp;nbsp; behind, using the camera to copy.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
