topic PIXMA TR7020a: Scanning wirelessly to a Chromebook in Desktop Inkjet Printers

I am trying to scan wirelessly from a Canon PIXMA TR7020a inkjet 3-in-1 printer to a Chromebook (Lenovo C340-11). I cannot say that I have never succeeded in this endeavor, but generally I fail. What happens in the case of failure is that the Chromebook produces the full-screen response. "No scanners available". When trying to scan, I generally succeed, however, if I link the TR7020a to the Chromebook by USB cable. Furthermore, I can print a document (produced by, say, a word processor on the Chromebook) either wirelessly or when the TR7020a is linked to the Chromebook by USB cable. Please advise.
