Greetings, replaced black cartridge less than 3 weeks ago. Needs replacing again with less than 100 pages printed. is this normal?

Thanks for joining the conversation, Clark3! What you're describing sounds like it's within the average range for your ink cartridge. Based on industry-standard tests, the black PG-275 ink cartridge should produce approximately 100 pages. If you need a cartridge that can produce more pages, consider upgrading to the PG-275 XL which can go for approximately 300 pages based on the same tests.

thank you. I bought and started using this printer on Mar 3rd. I realize the initial cartridge included probably had minimal ink. All total, since Mar 3, I have printed 136 pages, so does seem very limited. My local Staples did not have the XL but will try again. I certainly cannot afford replacing cartridges at $40 every 2-3 weeks.
