I am using Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon 64 bit. I have installed the cnijfilter-mx920series-3.90-1-deb package and the scangearmp-mx920series-2.10-1-deb scanner software.
They both work, but when I scan and try to save the scanned image as a PNG it comes out 0 bytes. Save as PDF works fine. It has been this was as long as I have used these deb packages. I was given the link from Cannon (not USA). It seems like there is some missing library in Linux missing that allow the PNG to save properly.

Anyone ever fix this specific issue?
