PIXMA G6065 won't print from front tray

It appears that I can only print form the rear tray only despite instructing that printing be from the front tray.

Greetings,

After loading paper in the rear tray or cassette, you are prompted to register the paper type you have loaded using the operation panel.

When printing the paper type and size you select in the print driver should match the type of paper you loaded and registered in the cassette or rear tray. Ensure you have not changed the type or size in the driver to something other than what you intend to use.

There are two locations to instruct which tray to be used i.e. in page set up (paper) and in printer properties; it would appear that the setting in page set up (paper) overrides the setting in printer properties. Thank you for helping with problem.
