topic ip8720 Print Quality Issue in Desktop Inkjet Printers

Hello,

i recently purchased a Canon ip8720. The specs say it has the same dpi resolution as my previous mx922. But i recently printed **bleep** photos for the first time. And the quality is so bad i could not use them. The printer is new, alignment is good. Inks are full. Machine is clean. Other types of printings come out fine. But when you try to print an image that requires alot of fine detail, the printers limitations are clearly seen. Lack of definition, blurry lines, inaccurate coloring.

Canon, is there something wrong with my printer. Or is the ip8720 print quality not as advertised?
