I bought a Canon TR 4720 back in 2/27/2023 and was wondering if the display window has a light in it. Can't find anything in the instruction Manual. .

Hi,

The screen on the TR 4720 does not have a backlight to it.

Terrible product design. The angle of the display and the lack of backlight make it impossible to read in many lighting conditions. This design should not have made it past usability testing.

Just bought this printer and seeing that it has NO BACKLIGHT on the screen makes me want to throw it in the garbage. I am already vision impaired. Can Canon make such a crappy design? For Pete’s sake, who thinks (or doesn’t) of something so BASIC!

Amen! I am an industrial designer and your comment is on point. This should NOT have been made into production as is.

I just got my brand new Pixma TR4720 printer and am trying to set it up. I can't read the display screen. There's no backlight on. I Googled to see how to turn it on. I come here and find out the printer has no backlight. What kind of ridiculous product has no backlit display? I've used Canon in the past and always thought it was a good brand. This kind of cheap, obviously money saving product makes me question how good Canon products are currently and I doubt I'll buy any more Canon products.

If I was going to keep my TR4722, I'd keep a flashlight in my desk just so I could read the error messages. However, the TR4722 is going to the junkyard. It's that bad.
