hi, I'm adding to this because, whilst my problem is not exactly the same I'm hitting a brick wall with answers and I'm curious as to if there may be a link of some sort.

I've used pixma iX6850's for years, printed 10000s of sheets in photo quality on adhesive paper using non canon inks, as far as I am concerned these printers are workhorses. But, since about 4/5 months ago i have been having issues with failing printheads on multiple machines, some straight out of the box, less than 200 sheets and only having used Canon ink.

I'm at a loss basically.

Thanks for joining the conversation, 6850PixmaUser! We appreciate the info, though we need to let you know that the PIXMA iX6850 is not supported by our team here at Canon USA since that printer isn't available in this country. If you live outside the United States, please click HERE and select your country to find support in your part of the world. Your fellow Community members are still welcome to offer their advice.

Thanks for choosing Canon!
