So many questions......

What operating system? What is your installation procedure? Are you following the instructions exactly? What exactly is failing to happen? What driver are you using?

Hey, thanks for responding. All good questions. Computer is running Windows 11. I’m going to Canon’s website and downloading the suggested driver. I’m following all of the instructions Canon provides and the computer is recognizing the printer but it won’t connect wirelessly to print.

Hi turtur76! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you are unable to install your MX922 to a Windows 11 computer.

You mention that you are downloading the recommended driver from the Canon website. You also say that the computer is recognizing the printer, but it won’t connect wirelessly to print. We can help you with this issue, but we will need more details.

We need to pinpoint where the problem is occurring and what error messages are being displayed so we can provide the steps you need to install the printer. Here are a few questions that we would appreciate answers to. Please provide as many details as you can and feel free to provide information that may help us figure out what is going wrong.

How is the computer detecting (recognizing) the printer? Is it detecting it through a USB cable? Or is it detecting it on the Wi-Fi network?

After downloading the suggested driver, are you opening that file and running the driver installer?

Does the driver installer program find the printer on the network? Or are you being told that the printer is not detected?

Do you get a message saying that the installation was completed? If not, what error message do you get and what does that message say?

If you did get a message saying the installation was complete, do you get an error when you try to print? If so, what does that error message say?

When you go to print, does the Canon MX920 series printer show up in the print settings window (next to the selected printer or the destination printer)?

Are you able to print from other computers on the same Wi-Fi network?

If the driver installer is not opening or running, what message do you get?

Is your computer running in Safe Mode (also known as Windows 11 S)?

Do you have any security programs or anti-virus programs installed on your computer other than the ones that were pre-installed by Microsoft? For example, did you install Norton or McAfee on your computer?

According to the printer’s network configuration page, what is the router’s Signal Strength (line 10, under Wireless LAN)?
To print out the network configuration page, you can follow the steps in the following web article:
https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART142828

Here are a few suggestions you can try before replying to us.

If you have not connected the printer to your Wi-Fi, you can disconnect the USB cable and perform the Standard Setup option available through the printer’s menu. The following web article will help with that:

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART164598

If the printer is already connected to your network, please turn the printer off and restart your router. To restart the router, you can disconnect the power cable and reconnect it. Then, wait three minutes for the router to finish restarting before you turn the printer back on. If you have one router and several extenders, please restart all of them.

Finally, you can try disabling both the Wireless LAN DRX setting and the IPv6 Setting. Here are the steps you can follow:

Press the Menu button.

Use the arrow buttons to select Setup (symbol for Setup looks like tools), and then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons to select Device settings, and then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons to select LAN settings, and then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons to select Other settings, and then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons to select Wireless LAN DRX setting, and then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons to select Disable, and then press the OK. This will return you to Other Settings.

Use the arrow buttons to select TCP/IP settings, and then press OK.

Use the arrow buttons to select IPv6, and then press OK.

Use the arrow buttons to select Yes at confirmation screen (LAN communication may be disabled depending on your environment. Set this setting?), and then press OK.

Use the arrow buttons to select Enable/disable IPv6, and then press OK.

Use the arrow buttons to select Disable, and then press the OK button.

When you have returned to the IPv6 settings menu, you can press the COPY button to exit to the main menu.

If none of these articles help and you are still unable to print, please write back with answers to the questions I listed earlier. Please be descriptive and feel free to provide additional information that isn’t asked for in the questions.

I hope this information helps. Thanks again.
