      <description>&lt;P&gt;I allowed tech support to sign on to my laptop to load new printer driver. They blanked my screen so I could not see what they were doing. They also took away my ability to disconnect. This was all after getting my Debit Card information to pay for driver since my printer is out of warrentee. They then proceeded to attempt to make purchases , set up a wire transfer and open a Zelle account. My bank blocked all of these but then closed my account and said I must set up all direct deposits, auto payments and bill pay attached to new account. What a pain! There does not seem to be anybody at Canon to complain to ......So Be Careful..&lt;/P&gt;</description>

IJ is for inkjet. start.canon isn't a valid site. The Getting Started booklet goes out to the whole world and does not include a phone number - because it would inundate phone support for simple requests that can be completed online.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The long way to find the number is here:&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://www.usa.canon.com/contact-us/support" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;https://www.usa.canon.com/contact-us/support&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P data-unlink="true"&gt;Once you're there, scroll down. You'll see a big red button that says "CLICK HERE FOR SUPPORT NUMBERS BY GROUP" - click on that to expand the list. Once you're there, you'll see that the most common number is 800-652-2666. For PIXMA Printers, you must have a My Canon Account before calling (that's why it says to check your My Canon Account first). The main number is still the same - 800-652-2666. But you must register first. That's at &lt;A href="http://canon.us/account" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;canon.us/account&lt;/A&gt; or&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin&lt;/A&gt;. Once&amp;nbsp;you've done that, you'll see your support entitlements. If you're out of warranty, the&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;most&lt;/STRONG&gt; support will cost is $19.99, and you must pay that fee before calling. Our support agents do not take credit card information over the phone for support.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P data-unlink="true"&gt;If they're going to initiate a remote support session, they do so with your permission while you're on the phone with them and while you're watching. You can see everything they do while doing it, and they usually explain what they're doing and why.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Agreed. Also, be very wary of Scam customer support. I wasted a fair amount of time with a support person that I found online and looked legitimate. They kept asking for $$. Note that Canon warns that if someone is asking for more than US$20, it's a scam. I only learned that later.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
