Hi,

You can initialize the printer settings. To initialize the printer settings, press and hold the RESUME/CANCEL button and release it when the POWER lamp flashes 15 times.

All the printer settings are initialized. After initializing the printer, perform setup again as necessary.

If the issue persists, the printer would require service. If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

I recently updated the firmware on my G1200 as I was having printing issues. Turns out my heads were blocked but I had already started the firmware update. Once the update had completed and the PC was reset. I attempted to print a color doc. It came out black only.

I ran the system cleaner and nozzle check. The nozzle check only printed the black cross bars and then the standard

701-750 Pages

Bk 1-5000 Pages

Col 1-5000 Pages.

There was absolutely no marking of color on the page. I cleaned the heads again and the ink was flowing fine. This all happened when i upgraded the firmware from factory default to the latest 1.1

I have been trying to return the printer to factory default setting but have been unable to find the downgrade firmware anywhere.

Running Windows 10 pro

Canon Windows Printer Driver 2.91

Firmware ver 1.1

I have attempted to print from 2 additional laptops and still getting the same black only. Both laptops used to print color too prior to the firmware update.
