G, GX, TR, TS What to buy?

I am ready for a new printer. My MG7120 is dying. I am a low volume home user. I would like an all-in-one that prints decent photos. What is the difference between the various lines of Canon printers? They all sound fairly similar.

You can go wrong by falling for the cheap printers, whose purchase price will be far outweighed by the cost of a set of ink cartridges. And a higher-class printer will be more capable.
