Canon BJC-80 With Windows 7 and USB to Parallel Cable

1. Plug your USB to parallel cable into your printer but don't turn on the printer.

2. Delete any other instances of your attempted installs of the printer if you have any

3. Click on Add Printer

4. When it asks you, pick Local Printer

5. For Port, scroll down and pick the last Virtual Printer Port for USB. There may be one or more depending upon whether you have used your USB to Parallel Port cable for another printer

6. When you get to the selection of the printer, if the Canon BJC-80 is not there, click on Windows Update. It will probably be quite some time before the Canon BJC-80 shows up.

7. Click on the Canon BJC-80 when it does.

8. Finish and DO NOT print a test page

9. Go to devices and printers and double click on you BJC-80

10.Choose File --> Properties

11. Chose the Ports Tab. It should be showing the USB00* Port. Unclick Enable Bidirectional Printing or any of the other 4 choices in the list at the bottom

12. Choose the advanced tab. Click print directly to the Printer. Click Apply

13. Turn on your printer.

14. Click "Print Test Page" and it should work
