Pixma Print Plan Questions

I just signed up for the Pixma Print Plan. I subscribed to the 30page/month option, as I don't use it that much. My questions are: What is meant by a page? There's a world of difference between a page of text and an 8x10 color photograph. Next, what happens if I go over the 30 pages? What if I use less than 30 pages/month? Will the ink be sent to me only when I run out, or every month regardless of how much I have left? None of these questions were answered in the description of the plan and I'm wondering if I made a mistake.
