topic PIXMA G4270 not showing in Device Manager after install in Desktop Inkjet Printers

Another issue I had after the installation was the Printer file disappeared from the Device Manager. After googling, I restarted my computer and then went to Device Manager, clicked into the View tab and clicked "show hidden files". This resolved the issue. Not sure the restart was needed, though.
