To have a better understanding of your issue, please let everyone know the full model of the printer you have. It will say something like PIXMA or MAXIFY, and will be followed by a mixture of letters and numbers, so we really just need the letters before the 7020 part so we can make sure we have you in the right place! Please also let us know if you're printing from your phone or a computer, and the operating system on whichever device that is.

Are you printing on photo paper? If so, verify that you are printing on the correct side.

Many photo papers are not really paper, but plastic with a special coating on one side to absorb the ink.

It's PIXMA. I've printed thousand of pictures for years on HP with no issues. This is a new printer, using the ink that came with it and Canon paper.

Thanks, I'm eating crow! This feeder is reverse of HP so I was feeding paper incorrect for this printer -- 3 wasted days, but yours was the correct solution

It’s a common error. Some papers don’t make it easy to tell correct side. Wet a finger tip and touch a corner. Print side will be tacky to the touch.

Glad we were able to find a solution together, susanbm! For anyone else who might see this in the future, we still need to determine your printer model. There are two different PIXMA printer with 7020 in their model number. Do you have the PIXMA TR7020 or the PIXMA G7020?
