After much experiment i called the canon help line you detailed and found that they dont know if any Canon printers come with safety fuses my PIXMA 870 will not power on at all and i did recieve a new modem with new passcode an y helpp is greatly needed

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MX870 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

The printer does not have a "safety fuse" or circuit breaker. Assuming power has been verified, if the device won't power on, the power supply, mainboard or power button itself has failed. The MX870 just turned 6 yrs old. If you live near a business that performs printer repair, that is an option. If not, shipping and repair will likely exceed the cost to replace it.
