PIXMA TR8620 Single-Sided Originals Producing Double-Sided Copies

I have a Canon TR8620 printer. I like it very much and find it easy and user friendly most of the time. I downloaded the printer manual and study it whenever I need help using it, but can't find the answer to these questions:

I tried to use the Automatic Document Feeder to make one copy of a dozen one-sided pages (Letter size paper; standard plain paper; words only on one side of the paper). The printer printed the copies as duplex, so instead of getting twelve one-sided pages, I got six double-sided pages. Is there a way to use the printer's control panel window to select an option for Letter size, Simplex, printing.? Or if it's not possible to select that option from the pinter's window, how do I do it from my computer?

You can go into the ECO settings of the printer and turn of duplex printing for copying. Please click HERE for more information about ECO settings.
