We just bought a Canon Pixma ts 705a printer. The box and the manual indicate it can perform duplex printing. The manual says to make sure "duplex" and "automatic" are checked.

The printer prints on one side of the paper, then sends a message advising me to remove the paper, flip it, and refeed it.

Is this what Canon considers automatic duplex printing? I would consider this manual duplex printing.

Are you using plain paper letter size?

As we live in Europe, we use A4. It's plain paper, though.
