topic Wrong printer/paper combo? in Desktop Inkjet Printers

I have a Pixma ip8720 printer and I've been testing Canon Pro Premium Matte paper with it. According to Canon's specs for this paper, it is NOT compatable with this printer. What does that mean? I should be using either a more expensive Pro printer or less expensive Canon Matte paper. I've been getting OK results but there are color casts on the B&W prints - (mid-tone magenta). I don't print color -- just B&W from scanned B&W film. So if my printer and paper are suppossedly incompatable, what problems should I be experiencing?

Thanks, brassman

Hello.

The Premium Matte paper is a Fine Art paper that is meant to be used on our PRO-Series printers. Using this paper with the iP8720 may achieve mixed results. Try adjusting the color settings in your software to see if the color casts can be reduced. If the issue persists, try using one of the media types that is recommended for use with the printer for better results.

This didn't answer your question or issue?
