Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PIXMA MX870 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.

My printer was giving me error codes saying that my printer head was messed up so I bought a new printer head. Now, when I run a test page absolutely nothing prints. The same with when I try to print from my computer. This printer worked flawlessly until now. The printer head has been soaked in isopropyl alcohol to remove any potential clogs but still nothing. I'm seeing pools of ink on the printer head when I remove the ink cartridges so something is not telling the printer to take the ink and put it onto the paper. Very disappointed.

Greetings,

Not sure what error message you saw, or if you can be sure the issue was actually your printhead? You might have another issue which is not apparent or hasn't manifested itself?

The printer is 12 yrs old. It might be time for a new device.
