    <description>&lt;P&gt;Greetings,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Old ink, a worn out or partially clogged printhead (due to infrequent use) can all cause the problems you are describing. Have you performed a printhead alignment?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also, a dirty timing (encoder) strip is something else you can look at.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Have you checked this:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&amp;amp;id=ART142447" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Canon Knowledge Base - Clean the timing (encoder) strip - MX922&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
