&lt;P&gt;Open the control panel on your computer and select View devices and printers. If&amp;nbsp; the you were able to run the installer for the Canon driver, the printer icon should appear there along with your other printer.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If it does appear, then you should be able to select it in IJ Scan Utility.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Please click the link &lt;A href="https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-mg2522#idReference%3Dsoftware-drivers" target="_self"&gt;HERE&lt;/A&gt; and when the support page opens, please download and install the&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;MG2522/MG2525 MP Drivers Ver.1.02 file.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Once the install is complete, click the Windows start button and scroll down until you see a Canon Utilities folder. Open the folder and check to see if IJ Scan Utility . If the program is there, open it and select photo or document to start scanning.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It sounds like the driver is not fully installing or is not installing correctly. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Since it wont install correctly, you wont be able to scan with IJ Scan Utility or access the printer/scanner driver. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;At this time I recommended reaching out to Microsoft and they can troubleshoot why  your computer is not correctly downloading/installing the Canon printer/scanner driver. &lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am having the same problem with a Windows 10 computer. I have tried to install the software 3 times and it does not install the scanner utility. I have an old XP computer that I was able to get to work with the printer. The scanner utility installs properly, so the only way I can use the scanner function of my printer is with my XP computer. Canon should fix this problem instead of blaming Microsoft.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;This will occur if the Windows driver is installed before or instead of the Canon driver for your PIXAM MG2522.  To resolve this, please follow these steps on your Windows 10 computer:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2. In the Run window, please type CONTROL PANEL and click OK.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3. Click on View devices and printers (or Devices and printers, depending on your view).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;4. Right click the Canon MG2500 series and left click on Remove device. Repeat until all MG25000's are removed.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;5. Disconnect the USB cable.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;6. Click Close to close that window.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;7. In the upper left corner, click on Control Panel (or the Back button).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;8. In Control Panel, click on Uninstall a program (or Programs and features, depending on your view).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;9. Click once on "Canon MG2500 series MP Drivers" and then click Uninstall at the top.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;10. Follow the on screen prompts to uninstall the driver. When you click Complete, the driver is uninstalled.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;11. Once done, please reboot your computer.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When your computer restarts, we will reinstall:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1. Please use the following link:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-mg2522#DOWNLOADS" target="_self"&gt;https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-mg2522#DOWNLOADS&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2. Click on "Software &amp;amp; Drivers".&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3. Click the Download button next to "MG2522/MG2525 MP Drivers Ver.1.02 (Windows)".&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;4. Once the download is complete, open your downloads folder. To access this, press CTRL and J, then let both go.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;5. Double click "mp68-win-mg2500-1_02-ejs.exe" to begin the installation.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;6. Follow the on screen prompts to reinstall, reconnecting the USB cable when prompted by the installation.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Once the installation has completed, please attempt to scan:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;1.  Click on the Windows Start button.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2.  Click on the Canon Utilities folder in the menu that appears.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3.  Click on the IJ Scan Utility to start the scanning software.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I found to workaround fixes but it doesn't work like it is suppose to and my previous printer worked.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;a new printer should have all the kinks worked out and being working properly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I ended up installing a HP scan and capture app. I put the MG2522 series from a device search onto my desktop and choose scan, but I have lost some of the functions I should have also&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I may get disgusted enough to take this thing to the recycle center and get a different brand cause this irritates me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have done all the suggestions they gave me and nothing else works&lt;/P&gt;</description>
