PIXMA G3501 Green Light Won't Stop Flashing

I've just bought a G3501 I put the ink in first. Now I try to set it up and green light won't stop flashing, although the blue light is solid. Any advice will be welcome. I should point out that although there is a modem in the house I am struggling to connect it
