canon bjc-85 printer error printing

Hi. I purchased a used canon bjc-85 printer. Old but in good shape. Had not been used much and sitting long time.

Got driver. Put in new in cart, black.

First problem at the sellers home. when printing a page, the paper goes through but no ink on it.

At home, soaked the ink holder in water overnight. put the cart back in. different problem now. Never gets to the printing part. I get error printing message. I also get this message when trying any of the maintenence functions.

So, I don't know if the soaking solved the ink problem or not, now it won't print. Please help. Thanks

been using these printers for over 12 years soak bottom part only of empty print tray in rubbing alcohol a few mins unless ink dried months in it then over night then USE Q TIP TO RUB AREAS THAT INK TRAVELS THROUGH GENTLY YOU SHOULD SEE INK DE-SOLVE INTO ALCOHOL. DAB DRY WITH PAPER TOWEL. DONT LET DECALS FALL OFF AS THESE ARE NEEDED TO id PARTS. sorry hit caps lock by accident lol
