      <description>&lt;P&gt;Strangely enough this same thing just started happening for me today as well. With my MG7520 printer. Haven't used it in a few days. But today when turning it on, it goes through a cycle of internal printer head movement or whatever for ~20 seconds, then just turns off. Tried removing print cartridges as well, same issue. No error messages on the screen before it turns itself off.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;MG7520 printer&lt;/STRONG&gt;. The printer starts and turns off after 15-20 seconds. IF I can get it to turn back on, I receive “The printer was not turned off correctly…” message. Usually it starts through a cleaning process and shuts off. I have discovered today, that if it turn off my router, the printer acts normal. As soon as I turn on the router, 10-15 seconds later, the lcd screen freezes and the printer turns off. I have tried resetting the wireless settings with the same outcome. This started happening within the last week or two. I’ve never had this issue in the past.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Whoa. Yes, same 5150.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My MG7520 is set up to do network printing over wifi. If I have router on/ wifi connected, printer shuts down as discussed above.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If I turn off wifi/ router, printer boots up normally. I used the 'copy' function on the printer, and a copy was printed as expected.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So there's an issue just when connecting to network.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Then it turns on again by itself in about the same amount of time. Over and over again. I finally just unplugged it so it would stop driving me crazy!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your reply Arthur.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have to ask because I’ve had no configuration changes or firmware update to my router in months. Also the firmware for the printer hasn’t had an update in years to my recollection—none available. Does Canon brick devices that have reached a certain point in EOL? I have no desire to upgrade a perfectly functioning printer to a newer model just for the sake of upgrading. My MG7520 isn’t a workhorse by any means but has performed near flawlessly for me up to this point. I guess what I’m asking is there any point in contacting Canon if they are just going to ignore the problem? Sorry for sounding ungrateful but I don’t want to waste more time and energy than I already have.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Reading the comments above, it is clear that I am not alone - and all of us on 5/31/22. This can not be a coincidence. BTW, in the past when I turned the printer on I the icon for wifi connection would light, too; but not today. Anyhow, I have not added hardware in years, nor reconfigured (still Windows 7), if that helps.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;UPDATE EDIT (WORKAROUND):&lt;BR /&gt;To temporarily fix your printer until we figure this out do the following:&lt;BR /&gt;1. Turn off your home WIFI Router.&lt;BR /&gt;2. Turn on your Canon PIXMA (it will now remain on as normal).&lt;BR /&gt;3. Navigate to SETUP / DEVICE SETTINGS / LAN SETTINGS / CHANGE LAN&lt;BR /&gt;4. Select DISABLE LAN &amp;amp; plug your printer in directly via USB to your computer (If possible) for now.&lt;BR /&gt;5. Turn your WIFI Router back on.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your printer should now be fully functional but off the network. &lt;STRIKE&gt;I don't have a way to test if it works by switching to Ethernet LAN but if someone can try it please let us know if it is only a WIFI issue.&lt;/STRIKE&gt;&amp;nbsp; Thanks to @5150 for testing that the issue persists via LAN/ETHERNET.&amp;nbsp; Also for those who haven't seen it, @Italolima posted a DNS workaround that keeps the printer on the network without connecting to the internet &lt;A href="https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Desktop-Inkjet-Printers/Pixma-MX490-Keeps-Cycling/m-p/373547/highlight/true#M55467" target="_self"&gt;HERE&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also happening ONLY TODAY on my PIXMA MG7520, turns on for about 30 seconds and turns off. Display reads CANON.&amp;nbsp; I initially turned it on today to do a scan and after powering on correctly, I was getting error messages from the IJ utility that it could not find the scanner.&amp;nbsp; It keeps turning off now as all these other posts describe.&amp;nbsp; Stock firmware never upgraded, has worked perfectly for years until today.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried a hard reset:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Power off printer&lt;BR /&gt;-Hold STOP button for 2 seconds (if it is not illuminated, hold 1 inch to the left of the edge of the touch panel and center to the screen)&lt;BR /&gt;-Hold ON button for 2 seconds while still holding STOP button.&lt;BR /&gt;-Release STOP and press STOP button 5 times.&lt;BR /&gt;-Release both buttons and wait for the printer to go through a process. Noise will stop and screen will be on but black.&lt;BR /&gt;-Press POWER and printer will go through another process then shut down.&lt;BR /&gt;-Press POWER and printer should start up normally.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This temporarily gets it to start up normally but then gives the error "Power was not turned off correctly the last time. Press the (Power) Button when turning power off. OK"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It then shuts itself off again.&amp;nbsp; What is the phone number for support? I am not finding it after having to register the device cannot find the number still.&amp;nbsp; This is absolutely ridiculous.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

After putting in my phone number, it said that my MG7520 no longer can get support since it has been over a year since purchase. It costs $19.99 to get support.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All the people on this forum having the exact problem on the exact date can not be a coincidence! I turned off my Wi-Fi and the printer worked. But after turning the Wi-Fi back on, the printer shut off. Come on Canon and figure this out, please!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
