PIXMA MG2500 Not Recognized by Mac

I just installed the Canon mg2500 on my Mac OS and it is not recognizing the printer.. What am I doing wrong? I've never had this much trouble installing a printer.

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which version of macOS is running on your computer as well as how your computer and your printer are communicating with each (i.e. Wi-Fi, USB, etc.). I have the Mac OS Catalina // version: 10.15.7 The computer and printer -- WIFI.....

Hi Coop0502,

The PIXMA MG2500 series does not have the ability to be used wirelessly,

To use your PIXMA MG2500 series with your Mac, please connect a USB cable from your printer directly to your Mac.

Once connected, please follow these steps:

1. Click the Apple in the upper left corner and then System Preferences.

2. Click on Printers & Scanners.

3. Click the [+]. The Add Printer window will open.

4. Select the Canon MG2500 series and click the Add button at the bottom.

This is a recurring problem on my macbook pro running Sonoma. The first and second time this worked, but now after taking web advice, and resetting the printer in System Settings, it deleted the icon. Now when I search for Canon MG2500, nothing shows up and the window does not repond at all.

You cant edit your post here. I meant to say I rfe-installed the drivers twice and that soved the issue, but this time I am havind issue of not finding the printer by search or ny other method, tried reconnecting cable firmly and powering off and on.

After reinstalling driver for third time, my printer is online again. I have all usb ports on my mac and i tried a different port and then the printer showed up.
