I am having this problem as well.

This file:

; AUTORUN.INF
[autorun]
open=Msetup4.exe
icon=.\WIN\res\bitmap\canon_cd.ico

[DeviceInstall]
DriverPath=WIN\Driver

[DeviceInstall.amd64]
DriverPath=WIN\Driver

\win-tr8600-1_3-n_mcd\Msetup4.exe

will not install and this is the problem I'm seeing with specs of what i"m running on.

I'm having to reinstall printer manually every time I want to use the printer or scanner. This is a new issue, prior to this the printer worked seemlessly. I've checked router, powercycled that and printer and computer, cleared print cache, nothing works, as soon as the printer powers down, it loses connection and can't be foudn by computer again without manually installed.

Printer:TR8620a with firmware ver 1.052 connecting to computer with OSWin11 (home) using64bit all updates current for pc and virus software/firewall active.

The error I get says the printer can not be contacted. it's seeing it as offline or unrinstalled. That's from the cannon app dialog.

In windows, it says "Error" under the printer in network/bluetooth/printers settings under devices for that printer.

Hi bl4ncoch4ppeau,

First, let's make sure that your computer and printer are able to communicate with each other.

Please follow these steps:

1. Turn your PIXMA TR8620a on.

2. Please tap the Wi-Fi icon in the lower left corner of your printer's display.

3. Next, select Wi-Fi.

4. Select See settings.

May sure that the name listed under Network name (SSID) is the same network name your computer is connected to.

Please scroll down the list, ensure that the Signal Strength is greater than 70%.

Below that, take note of the IPv4 address. On your computer, please follow these steps:

1. Please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.

2. In the Run window that appears, please type CMD and click OK.

3. In the Command Prompt window that appears, please type:

PING and the IPv4 address of your printer. For example, if your printer shows 192.168.1.15 next to IPv4 address, you would type PING 192.168.1.5 in the command prompt window

and then press the Enter key on your keyboard.

If you got "Timed Out", your printer and computer are not connected to the same network.

If you got "Destination Host Unreachable", please turn your printer off. Next, please go to your router and unplug the power cord from the back of your router. Wait 5 minutes and then reconnect the power cord to your router. Once your Wi-Fi network is back online, turn your printer back on. When your printer is back on, please go back to the command prompt window and attempt the PING command again.

If you have results, with "Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0" appearing near the bottom, then your TR8620a and computer can communicate with each other.

Next, let's reinstall the drivers. Please follow these steps:

1. On your computer, please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter I, then let both go.

2. Click on "Bluetooth & devices" on the left side.

3. On the right side, click on "Printers & scanners".

4. Click on the Canon TR8600 series. In the new window, click "Remove" at the top.

5. Repeat until all TR8600's have been removed from the Printers list.

6. Close the Printers window once complete.

Next, we will download the latest driver:

1. Please click this link: https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-tr8620a#DOWNLOADS

2. Click on Software & Drivers.

3. Choose "Windows" from the Operating System drop down and then "Windows 11" from the Version drop down.

4. Right click the Download button to the right of "Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer Ver.1.05 (Windows)" and left click on "Save Link As". Save this file to your Desktop. Note: you may have to click the "Load More" button to locate this.

5. Once that file finishes, go to your Desktop and double click "md__-win-tr8600_tr8630-1_05-ea34_2.exe".

6. Follow the on screen prompts to reinstall.

Did this answer your question? If so, please click the Accept as Solution button below so that others may find the answer as well.
